Sophisticated Wines
With Texas Roots |
Pat Brennan is a native of Charleston, SC. He and his family
moved to Texas in 1973. After practicing medicine
(Nephrology) in Fort Worth for thirty years, Pat bought
property in Comanche, Texas where the Brennans, along with
the Wilkersons of Comanche, established Brennan Vineyards
Winery in 2005. In a short span of three years Brennan
Vineyards has established a reputation for making excellent
wine.
In
2008, the Brennan Vineyards Viognier, 2006 was selected the
Best Texas Wine and received a double-gold medal at the
Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo International Wine
Competition.
The 2006 Brennan Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Reserve won a
Concordance (Double) Gold at the 2008 Indiana State Fair
International Wine Competition, one of the largest in the
US.
Brennan Vineyards grows eight varieties of vinifera (“Old
World”) grapes on 23 acres and makes their wine primarily
from estate fruit. Grapes grown include Mediterranean and
Bordeaux varieties. The winery includes the historic McCrary
House Tasting Room and Gift Shop and the Austin House Events
Center. All of this is located on a beautifully landscaped,
creek side campus.
